Luxury Vinyl Flooring Guide
With a smart and stylish solution to suit every situation, luxury vinyl flooring is always a wise decision. Whether you are seeking a look that’s a tried and true classic, or prefer to stay on the cutting edge, luxury vinyl is a cost-efficient and easy-to-care-for option you’re bound to love. In fact, for many residential and commercial consumers, luxury vinyl is a new way of life.
Resilient in its construction, luxury vinyl boasts the ability to strengthen your space by adding nature-inspired visuals, emulating the look and feel of hardwood, ceramic, and stone. Even in the most active surroundings, your luxury vinyl will stay stunning, with minimal care on your part. This makes it a great choice for those who share space with pets, or small children.
Here are the basics on this innovative flooring and why it might be the best choice for your home, or for your business.
Where Can Luxury Vinyl Flooring Be Installed?
When it comes to luxury vinyl flooring, the question to really ask is “where can it NOT go?” We’d be hard-pressed to answer that. Luxury vinyl is truly a floor for all spaces and seasons. With its durable coating to seal out moisture and potential scratches, luxury vinyl will work well even in your most hectic surroundings. And, since it is offered up in an expansive array of colors, shapes, sizes, and styles, it shouldn’t be a problem finding just what you had in mind.
We live in a very humid climate here in the low country. If you are planning on adding a hard surface flooring product to your home, then you will need to examine underneath (or have your pest control company do a moisture inspection) your home to be sure that your wood substrate is suitable for your new flooring. If you think that you have some moisture issues, then let us know and we'll be happy to help. You will want to be sure that you have a 6 mil moisture barrier/ground cover that covers 100% of the area underneath your crawl space. If you are on a slab, you may want to have a moisture test of your slab done which we can assist with as well.
Hard surface flooring and carpet are two different types of floor covering, both reacting differently to moisture. Moisture tends to wick through carpet and padding whereas hard surfaces can trap excess moisture. We want to install flooring that will last and that you'll love for years to come so help us help you to ensure that we are installing your new flooring in a suitable environment!
Types of Luxury Vinyl Flooring
With several different forms of luxury vinyl flooring available, it’s easy to customize and create a perfectly personalized look. For those with lots of space to cover- or simply those with a small flooring budget- sheet vinyl is a viable option. Others, who prefer their vinyl flooring be as realistic as possible, might prefer vinyl plank, as it looks and feels a lot like hardwood planks. Are you more of a stone person? Luxury vinyl tile looks exactly like stone, but minus the cost and maintenance.
Are you still not sure which type of luxury vinyl flooring is the right choice for your space, your style, or your budget? Not to worry: we’re here to help answer all those questions.
